A DRAMA IN REAL LIFE, IN REAL TIME
Trials are like staging a play with an unpredictable audience and no second chances. We understand these dynamics and know how to use them to our client’s benefit. We are real trial lawyers, not just litigators.
EXPERIENCE. THERE IS NO SUBSTITUTE.
The art of effective advocacy, written, oral, and visual, is what we do. We actually try cases. Lots of cases. Something that many lawyers with a litigation practice seldom do. All of our lawyers share something in common, a personality and character that allows them to relate to jurors, witnesses, and clients from every background and perspective.
We play the role of translators and story tellers, understanding our client’s case and fashioning the most effective way possible to communicate that to our audience, whether it is a jury, a single judge, or a panel of judges in an appellate court.
WINNING PERSONALITIES. WINNING CASES.
Robert Christie has tried scores of cases in diverse jurisdictions, state and federal court, over 33 years of trial practice. He has argued hundreds of successful summary judgment motions that resolved cases in his client’s favor before ever getting to trial.
A TRUE PARTNERSHIP, IN EVERY SENSE.
Mr. Christie and partner Tom Miller have prevailed on scores of summary judgment motions and have tried several cases each, ranging from employment discrimination to wrongful death. New partner Ann Trivett has successfully argued summary judgment motions in state and federal court, and has served as second chair in several major trials. She has also prevailed in mandatory arbitration proceedings. This depth of real courtroom experience is our stock in trade. And your peace of mind.
THE STORIES BEHIND THE STORIES YOU READ IN THE PAPER
Mr. Christie began his career as a law clerk for the Honorable Vernon R. Pearson in his last year on the Division II Court of Appeals, in Tacoma. The following year (1982), Judge Pearson, an original appointee to the Court of Appeals when it was created in 1969, became Justice Pearson, finishing his career on the Washington State Supreme Court.
OVERALL EXPERTISE. OVER 3 DECADES.
This clerkship began a 33-year career for Mr. Christie as an accomplished appellate lawyer, successfully arguing cases before all divisions of the Washington Court of Appeals, the Washington State Supreme Court, the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals, the Federal Circuit Court of Appeals, and two cases on briefs to the U.S. Supreme Court.
